Shiraz Jessa is the founder of Bibimoney Global Limited. Shiraz, passionately believes that it is only through financial inclusion for the un-banked and under-banked that one can achieve reduction in poverty and long term economic growth.
Shiraz was born in Tanzania and moved to the UK with his father at the age of ten. Shiraz studied computer science and has worked in their family businesses. These involved retailing electronic components, IT and IT solutions, IT support services, web design and development, internet service provider services, telecoms and property and property development.
Shiraz was instrumental in building an early fully automated e-commence transaction solution, including a bespoke configurator. Shiraz sat on the Confederation of British Industries’ e-commence Board and was one of the early Directors at TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), an entrepreneurs’ association, providing mentoring and networking opportunities.
Lord St John has been a member of the House of Lords of the UK Parliament since 1978 and is currently Deputy Chairman of Strand Hanson Ltd., Non-Executive Chairman of Global Resources Investment Trust, a member of the Advisory Board of Silicon Valley Bank, Non-Executive Director of Albion Ventures LLP, Chairman of the Governing Board of Certification International and holds advisory roles with Milio International, Contech Global, Global Oil Shale and ABN Corporation.
Lord St John received a BA and a BSocSc in Psychology from Cape Town University, a BProc in Law from the University of South Africa and an LLM from the London School of Economics.
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Bibimoney, Debbie was a partner with Deloitte. She has worked in the UK and African practices of Deloitte for the last two decades and was Head of the Metals & Mining Team and latterly Head of the Africa Services Group. She was a lead partner on the Deloitte Growth Escalator programme, where she mentored CEOs from all industries on emerging market strategy, particularly in Africa. She has held a number of Board positions including Chair of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) UK Board, the International representative on the SAICA full board and a member of the Advisory Board to the South African Chamber of Commerce and Education Africa and a non-executive director of Firestone Diamonds plc. She was also a member of the UKTI Sub-Saharan African Taskforce and the Africa Advisory Board of CityUK.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa and an Honours degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa.
Chief Technology Officer
Alexander has worked in the IT industry on both the service-side to client side since 2003.
He is an experienced programmer and product delivery specialist, proficient in multiple programming languages and paradigms. (C, C++, C#, PHP, Bash, ActionScript, Java)
Alex has extensive, demonstrable knowledge and experience of building and designing full scale multi-tiered professional applications, from back-end all the way through to front end delivery. He also has broad experience working with data centres, both locally and remote (Cloud based services) from full networking to application development.
His disciplines have ranged from the teaching of ICT, product development, running a consultancy business to full stack development for large retailers and service industry leaders.
Alexander Trotter is a partner and founder of Newmarket Asset Management, a specialist investor in frontier African equities. He has been involved in African investment and business management since 2006. Prior to founding Newmarket, he was a portfolio manager of Fulcrum Asset Management and previously headed United Bank for Africa’s Global Asset Management business. Between 2006 and 2009, he worked with the United Bank for Africa, as it expanded its network across Africa, providing a privileged insight into the dynamics of African growth and the development of financial services industry in Africa.He began his career at Linklaters as a corporate lawyer, working in cross border mergers and acquisitions, followed by banking and asset management positions at UBS, Global Asset Management and Firecrest Hambro.
Alex holds degrees from Oxford University and Imperial College.

Martin has an extensive Marketing, Business Development and Training background within Europe, Australia and Asia. He has worked with Unilever, FUJIFILM and Aristocrat Gaming and was a Senior Lecturer at the University of NSW Global in Australia.
His multidisciplinary skills and cross industry experience provides a unique and diverse skill set that is invaluable in working with our partners in new market deployments, client support, planning, training and acquisition.

Carel Stassen heads up bibmoney’s group finance function, including various operational roles and a technology liaison. Prior to joining bibimoney, Carel managed the group external reporting function and looked after complex financial instruments at a top UK based challenger bank. Before that Carel worked at Deloitte for over 5 years. Carel is a Chartered Accountant (SA) (UK) with experience in a array of industries including financial services, banking, retail, technology and real estate. Additional to being an audit manager, he acted as a financial instrument specialist, consulting various forms of complex financial instruments for a number of clients. He also consulted on African mergers and acquisitions for a UK based multinational advisement and public relations group. Carel is also a founding member of a South African based investment firm.
Carel holds a Bachelors and a Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Stellenbosch and is a registered member of the Chartered Accountants Society. He is a member of Mensa, plays multiple instruments and is an Advanced Scuba Diver.
Omair is an experienced advertising and design professional. He has co founded two successful technology startups, a fuel buying software platform for alleviating fuel poverty and a design firm which he helps run. Omair is currently overseeing bibimoneys Design and Communication arm.
